Fiction is a powerful yet largely overlooked form of architectural criticism. Infectious, freeing and universal in its nature, fiction is critical but not limiting, informative but not didactic, it helps us to imagine together.
To celebrate our work over the past year at New Architecture Writers (N.A.W.), the sixth cohort will collectively present a manuscript of fictional pieces exploring a diverse range of topics. These pieces will be presented in different formats from satire and poetry to fictional histories. What unites the work is a desire to write about, and experiment with, imagined spatial alternatives.
The evening will feature a showcase of the cohort’s manuscript bookended by two dicussions. We invite you to read and converse, engaging with the cohort and each other over curated music and food. A detailed programme will be shared with you closer to the event date.
We present to you: Spatial Fictions.
